A discussion with industry insiders from theatre, television and music on the inclusion of the female perspective. We will be exploring the idea of women in leadership and decision making roles in creating content and shaping culture in arts and the media in the 21st century. 

We are proud to announce our speakers for the event - Jason Lai, Sue Adams and Tan Suet Lee.

Jason Lai

Jason Lai is the Associate Conductor of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra and the Principal Conductor of the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory Orchestra. He is also the conductor of Singapore’s first professional chamber orchestra, re:SOUND. Education is an important part of Jason’s work in Singapore, training the next generation of conductors and spearheading the SSO’s education and outreach programme. Jason is also a veteran in television, appearing in a number of BBC programmes including the most recent series Heart of Asia and Tales from Modern China. Jason is a graduate of Oxford University, where he studied both cello and composition, and went on to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, where he was awarded a Fellowship in Conducting.

Sue Adams

Sue Adams is a leadership coach and facilitator who currently works with leading media and technology companies. She started her career as a corporate lawyer in the media industry. From 1998-2006 Sue was the Regional Business Head in Asia of Pearson TV (later renamed Fremantlemedia), the world’s largest producer of TV shows, responsible for the hugely successful show "American Idol" and other genres across the world. Sue has a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University and an MBA from INSEAD.

Tan Suet Lee

Tan Suet Lee is a Singapore-based playwright. She has written thirteen plays including: The Swing (2017, 2013), Weight of Emptiness (2016), Assassins (2016), A Second Life (2015), Lies in Waiting (2011), Sperm (2008) by Magdalena (Singapore) at the OCBC Singapore Theatre Festival, A Beautiful Companion (2006) and Shopping with Ang (2004) by Yellow Earth Theatre (YET) at the Typhoon 3: International East Asian Playreading Festival. Suet Lee also writes TV scripts (Explore Singapore), short stories and poetry, and is currently studying for an MA in Creative Writing at Swansea University.
